The first month plan, on paper.

Four weeks, in the order we would do it if we started again: set it up, sort the gear and the truck question, get found and quote, then do the job and get the review. Print it, tick it off, keep it by the phone. No email needed.

It is a plan, not a promise. When the first customer calls depends on your town, your post and how fast you answer.

Page one. Page two has weeks 3 and 4.

What is on it

Four weeks, one line at a time.

  1. 01Decide and set up. What you sell first, a name for your market, one business number, and the Google Business Profile started on day one.
  2. 02Gear and the truck question. The gear list, rent or borrow or skip, truck sizes, what rental coverage leaves out, and booking the job before the truck.
  3. 03Get found and quote. The Google profile live, a Craigslist post (about $5), Marketplace and local groups, the questions for every call, and a deposit to lock the date.
  4. 04Do the job, get the review. Practice with your helper, protect the furniture and the house, brief the crew, get paid before the truck leaves, ask for the review.

The sheet is the what. The course is the how.

The four weeks are Modules 0 to 7 of Moving Company in a Month. The course teaches each line in short lessons, with the templates we use in our own company: the Craigslist ad and the quote call word for word, the contract, the crew briefing and the review scripts. Then it keeps going, to pricing from real numbers, your first hire and getting off the truck. $497, or three payments of $179.
